אוכל ישראלי - PERFECT BASMATI RICE & WHITE RICE - GAS COOKING & MICROWAVE- Israeli food


 Basmati rice  is considered the healthiest among all types of white rice. It has long grains.  It is aromatic with a nutty flavor. It's not as sticky as other types of rice and the cooked grains are separated and fluffy

BASMATI  RICE - PREPARATIONS  IN  ADVANCE

To get soft grains it's recommended to soak the basmati rice in cold water for half an hour.  Then filter well and dry for another half an hour. Drying is important, otherwise grains will break

BASMATI  RICE / WHITE  RICE - MICROWAVE  COOKING

4 small servings or for 2 hungry diners

 
INGREDIENTS :
 
     -    1 cup basmati rice / any other white rice 
     -    1.75 cup of tap water
     -    1 tsp salt
     -    3 tbsp canola oil
 
 PREPARATIONS :

     -    Mix in a microwave and serving bowl
     -    Cover and cook in the microwave maximal heat  :

             -    Basmati rice -  for 15 minutes
             -    Other sorts of white rice - for 20 minutes
     -    Wait 10 minutes before opening the lid
     -    Crumble and serve

BASMATI  RICE / ANY  OTHER  WHITE  RICE - GAS HOB COOKING

INGREDIENTS :
      -    The same 
 
PREPARATIONS :

     -    Fry rice in oil for a minute, until translucent
     -    Add water and salt and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally
     -    Cover and lower the heat

     -    Cook   -   Basmati rice -  for 15 minutes
                      -   Other sorts of white rice - for 20 minutes

     -    Wait 10 minutes before opening the lid
     -    Crumble and serve
