אוכל ישראלי - BAKED GARLIC CHALLAH FOR WINTER SOUPS - Israeli food


 
Baked garlic Challah will fill your house with irresistible scents. Crispy crust
And inside it's warm, soft and soaked with garlic butter. Add to it a comforting wintry soup and you have a perfect dinner

I remember one Saturday my daughter Noah'leh burst home with joy when the scent of the baked garlic challah was thought mistakenly to be a grilled chicken .... Luckily she loves both...


Garlic butter :
      -    50g soft butter
      -    3 large garlic cloves, crushed
      -    Fine salt
      -    To choose - rosemary leaves or basil, finely chopped

The Challah - you can use Challah from yesterday :
     -    Wet the Challah with your hands, slice it twice horizontally across and create

          3 layers
     -    Smear garlic butter between the layers

     -    Spread The Challah into thick slices, but not all the way, so that it remains
          attached to the base
    -     Wrap with aluminum foil and bake about 10 minutes at a high temperature
    -     You can skip baking, freeze and thaw before baking later
    -     With the same seasoning you can prepare baguettes or rolls


Serving :
    -    Serve warm with winter soups like Creamy sweet potatoes and carrots soup,

         Pea soup, French onion soup, Krupnik and more
    -    Each diner tears off pieces of challah and enjoys
